Data Logs can be imported from the G1000 SD card. See the Data Log Import section for instructions to get the logs off the G1000.
The main page displays a summary of each entry. Tap a row to view more information. Tap the Report icon in the top navigation bar to generate a report of all log files. Tap the circle of dots for additional options.
The Data Logs can show flight time as Block time, which is the time from Power On to Power Off. It can also show Hobbs time, which is sometimes referred to as Tach time. The app uses an airspeed greater than 30 knots to report time the airplane is not on the ground.
You can also choose to display fuel in gallons or pounds, and distance as Nautical or Statute.
Finally, there are a couple of options to easily associate Pilot names to flights and add airport origin and destination if they cannot be determined. The app presently uses only US airports.
The app currently recognizes only specific file formats and will present an error if attempting to import an unrecognized file. Please email "aerologbook@icloud.com" and we can work together to support your data.
The Details screen presents information from the Data Log.
Tap the Map icon to show a map of the route. The Trash icon will delete the entry.
Flight Times are shown in UTC or can be changed to your Local timezone.
Hobbs Times acts like a Hobbs meter in 0.1 increments. So for example, your Taxi time would show as 0.0 if the time on the ground is less than 6 minutes.
Fuel is displayed as Gallons or Pounds. Miles can be Statue or Nautical. Speeds are shown as average values in Knots.
Tapping the Gallons per Hour field or any of the Speed fields will present a graph showing the value over time in flight.
If you have ForeFlight installed on your device, tap the Waypoints field and the route will be displayed in ForeFlight.
The Engine section shows Average or Peak values for Turboprop (shown here) or Piston engines.
Tapping any of the fields will present a graph of the value over time in flight.
Tapping any of the lines on the Detail view will present a graph of the associated value over time.
The graph will display two values, shown here as an example. You can also change the time interval with values ranging from 1 second to 10 minutes.
Tapping the Share icon on the top navigation bar will present the standard share sheet and can be saved in your Files, Photo Album, or sent via email or Message.
Tapping the Map icon at the top of the navigation bar in the Detail view will present a map showing the origin, routing, and destination.
Tap the Play button to animate your flight, showing Engine parameters along the way.
